TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT

The following terms and conditions apply when signing the Fire Systems Inspection Bureau (FSIB) inspection confirmation letter.

The quoted price includes all costs associated with the inspection and production of final report and certificate for compliant systems.

The quotation is for a certain number of systems. Only these will be inspected on the confirmed day of inspection.

The inspector must be given access to all parts of the building covered by the system and be escorted around the building to all areas for the inspection.

Our price allows for the inspection and report on the quantity of systems specified. Should you request for additional inspections when the inspector is on site, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee for this.

The following is excluded from all quotes:

  • Induction time and costs
  • Safety Files
  • Medical Costs
  • Any special PPE
  • Repeat inspections
  • Commissioning

Our order does not constitute the automatic supply of a compliance certificate.

Compliance certificates are only awarded for installations the FSIB, or appointed inspector of the FSIB, confirms to be compliant with the codes of practice it is inspected against.

Should the system be non-compliant, a certificate will not be issued.

RECTIFICATIONS

If the system report reflects non compliances, rectifications should be conducted.

Dependent on the status of the system the report may indicate Re-inspection required.

The contractor/client shall attend to the system problems and report back to the FSIB that the system is clear and a re-inspection will be scheduled. The re-inspection shall be chargeable.

If the system report states Rectifications required, the following applies.

Proof of repairs/changes including photos, documents and written confirmation of all non-compliances being rectified must be sent to the FSIB.

The client must send through all rectifications at one time and not in dribs and drabs. Once rectifications are received a rectification report will be produced and sent to the client.

Should the inspector agree all rectifications are clear a certificate will be issued.

There will be no charge for this.

The client has 90 days from the issue of report to supply this information.

If the client comes back with further rectifications within the 90 day period, a charge of R500.00 excluding VAT will be charged to the client for a second rectification report.

If rectifications are not conducted within 90 days a re-inspection and another site visit will be charged for.

If the system fails after a second rectification report, then it shall be reinspected and charged full price.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Reports produced by the FSIB will be sent to the purchaser ONLY and will not be copied or distributed in any manner.

The FSIB reserve the right to inform the client of any installation which, in the opinion of the FSIB, is dangerous in any manner. The contractor will be given the opportunity to rectify such an installation before the client is informed.

 CANCELLATIONS

Should the inspection be cancelled within 24 hours of the agreed inspection date FSIB Fire Systems reserves the right to charge the full cost of inspection, or part thereof to defray expenses.

 TERMS OF PAYMENT

Payment is to be made following the site inspection and shall be payable before despatch of the report.

The report will not be sent until payment is received.

All payments to be made within 7 days of receiving the invoice.
